Sushi was fresh and tender and a good value. Service was slow for lunch in mid afternoon with few customers. Ambiance was casual/diner.
Went there the other night as a new customer. Sushi was amazing! I got the ramen/sushi combo and both were great! Bf got two sushi rolls and he said it was one for the books. We will be going back soon for sure!

I got takeout from Toyko Sushi for the first time the other night, and I was pleasantly surprised. We usually order from noble fish, but this might be a close runner up. I ordered the sushi dinner combo with spicy tuna roll, miso soup, California roll, crazy roll, and crab rangoons. The miso soup was good, same as you would get anywhere. The crab rangoons were surprisingly delicious. I know it is hit and miss at some places, but seriously these were amazing. California roll was delicious, and my husband loved his sushi dinner combo. The only thing I wasn't in love with was the crazy roll. It sounded great online, but the taste was just off, and I cant quite point to what was off about it. The sushi is fresh, decent portions, and decent prices. We will definitely be incorporating them into our sushi rotation!
I came in during the pandemic shut down for take out. I called my order in and they even called me to let me know it was ready! When I went in, they have basically a plastic bubble set up for customers to wait in. I paid for and got my take out all from the bubble! It was great! I got home and tried the sushi. I probably think the is the best sushi I've ever had! I'm a huge fan of this place!
First time customer and during a pandemic. I ordered carry out because I work right down the street and wanted a quick snack. They blocked off the inside of the restaurant so when you walk in you can't go much further than 4 feet to pick up your food. I ordered 2 California rolls at about 3:30pm they told me it would take 20 minutes, I arrived early because, why not? And my food was ready in 10 minutes! It was awesome! The food was good and quick. I have no complaints! Easy and delicious! I'm looking forward to trying more!
my friend and i have been strolling Royal Oak the pat week or so and have stepped randomly into the restaurants in the downtown area. Today we walked into Tokyo Sushi. The owner greeted us with a smile and served us with patience (as my friend embarrassingly wanted to make his order difficult) and they got both of our orders correct and fast and most importantly HOT. One thing that annoys me about most restaurants is the speed at which they refill my beverage and Tokyo Sushi was fast with that as well. All in all, it was a good meal and a nice first experience. Would recommend the Pad Thai, as that's what we both got and both enjoyed it.
